Trash Pickup to Start a Day Early

Due to last week's cancelation, Saint Robert Sanitation will begin making their way through the City tomorrow, Wednesday the 9th to collect any trash that may be at the curb. If your trash is not picked up tomorrow, normal trash routes will be ran Thursday and Friday of this week, as well.

The City of Waynesville would like to take the opportunity in advance of the approaching winter weather system to reassure our citizens the City’s employees are prepared to respond to the forecasted conditions over the next couple days.  We have been tracking and preparing for this event throughout the week, however, it should be noted the City has taken numerous precautionary measures to try and minimize the effect storm events like this may have upon our residents.

Outdoor Fitness Court Coming Soon to Roubidoux Park

The City of Waynesville has been selected as an awardee in the 2022 National Fitness Court Healthy Cities Campaign! This award is for one 2022 NFC Grant of $25,000. The City will need to provide a local match in the amount of up to $125,000. These funds will be used to install a fitness court in the Roubidoux Park. The 2022 NFC Healthy Cities Campaign is part of a national movement to make world-class fitness free and accessible in public spaces across the country. We look forward to promoting this project and bringing the community together for a build day at the park in late 2022. Click the link below to watch a short video to learn more.

The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, also called the COVID-19 Stimulus Package or American Rescue Plan, is a $1.9 trillion dollar economic stimulus bill passed by the 117th United States Congress and signed into law by President Joe Biden on March 11, 2021, to speed up the country's recovery from the economic and health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing recession.

City approved for Project CommuniTree, Forest ReLeaf of Missouri's free tree program

Executive Assistant Miriam Jones and Park Supervisor Trey Haragan applied and was approved for the Project CommuniTree, Forest ReLeaf of Missouri's free tree program.  Forest ReLeaf of Missouri operates the only nonprofit community-assisted tree nursery in the region. Since 1993, more than 200,000 trees have been planted throughout Missouri and Illinois - projects that have increased tree canopy in low-income areas, assisted with reforestation after major weather disasters and those undertaken to promote peace and healing in our communities.
